Finale for School Leavers. Here I sit entombed in silence Where so lately there was song, Ringing laughs in girlish cadence On the lawns where they did throng. Books are closed and desks deserted Little things are stored with pride Comes a time when all are parted Friends no more sit side by side. And another year has ended In the life of Leweston And night`s curtain has descended As when work and day is done. There remain but fading memories Of the things we used to know and the winds that breathe through leafy trees Keep their secret as they blow. Old time does not return again But must go and so must they for if time itself could here remain Then all of us might stay. T.Tierney img
